Introduction
I live in London, UK where I have spent my entire life alongside my parents, and elder sister. My teenage years were marked by my parents’ divorce and my sister’s departure for university. I lived with my mother until 2013 when she relocated after selling our family home. This significant life change prompted me to choose to stay in London, and I found a sense of independence within me.
My Spiritual Journey
During that transformative period, I found myself questioning the purpose of my life. In search of fulfilment, I decided to join a local church. There, I connected with new people, participated in an Alpha course, and ultimately underwent a profound spiritual transformation, becoming a born-again Christian. At this time, my life revolved around various church-related activities, including engaging in weekly Bible studies, serving as an usher, attending conferences, and volunteering at my local food bank.
Inspiration Behind ‘Deeper Than Eczema’
This spiritual journey also led me to recognize my long-standing struggle with eczema. Feeling a sense of divine calling, I decided to launch the blog ‘Deeper Than Eczema,’ aiming to extend support and empathy to fellow individuals enduring eczema and other skin conditions.
My Career Path
My professional journey has been diverse, encompassing roles in retail, data entry, and customer services. I pursued higher education and graduated with first-class honours in Human Resource Management in 2012. My HR started with recruitment, later exploring organizational development through a one-year secondment, which eventually became a permanent position. Although I initially embraced my next role focusing on staff engagement and organizational development, I eventually felt dissatisfied with the job and work environment. After several attempts, I successfully secured a new position, leading me to leave my previous organization in August 2021. Presently, I find myself in a fulfilling role once again, thriving in the realm of organizational development and learning. I also started a studying for Learning and development consultant diploma in January 2023.
Reflection and Growth
Living through the pandemic has been a transformative experience, impacting my physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. I experienced challenges with my faith, feelings of loneliness, and uncertainties brought on by limited social interactions. I also faced COVID-19 infection twice in January 2021 and March 2022, fortunately recovering from both instances. Coping with the pandemic, coupled with significant life changes and family bereavements, has instigated deep reflection and re-evaluation in various aspects of my life, including my faith, beliefs, mindset, and social circle. This has resulted to a more open-minded perspective, extending beyond a narrow religious viewpoint. As I continue to evolve, I am committed to personal growth and becoming a better individual.
Visions for the future
In 2021, I briefly established an eczema support group, which I received positive feedback. However, in 2023 I have chosen a new direction towards offering digital eczema products and launched an Etsy Store.
As well as writing more blogs my desire is to expand on both products and services offering help and support.
